Breakout Group Session I:
Share current and future role of data science in graduate and professional programs in each school/unit.

Prompts:

  1. How is data science currently integrated into graduate and professional programs in your school/unit? 
  2. What future plans/ideas does your school/unit have for data science-focused graduate and professional programs, experiences or research opportunities? 
  3. What resources do you need to pursue these plans or ideas?
  4. How might you create joint programs with other schools or departments?
  5. How are faculty developing and staying current in data science? 
  6. How are you integrating ethics and social responsibility into your data science curriculum and programs?

Participants self-select into new groups that are issue-focused and discuss ideas and challenges for their topic: 

  1. Developing new data science graduate programs within your school/unit.
  2. Developing new data science graduate programs across schools.
  3. Marketing and recruiting for data science programs.
  4. Developing partnerships with external organizations (such as workforce development).
  5. Expanding research opportunities in data science for graduate and professional students.
