Jennifer Walker is the Associate Director of Academic Affairs. In addition to leading the expansion of the Graduate Studies team to provide increased centralized services, her responsibilities include graduate IT systems and their interactions with University-wide business processes, academic policy and procedure, and managing the student appeals process through the University Review Board. She helped launch the adoption and implementation of systems including Curriculog, graduate recruiting in Salesforce, and the new graduate admissions systems, Liaison. Prior to her current role, Jen spent eight years in the Office of the Provost serving as the Graduate and Professional Student Government advisor, providing staff support to the University Council on Graduate Study and managing the graduate academic planning proposal process.
Jen joined the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 as a student worker in the School of Medicine Graduate Studies Office where she was hired full time in 1999. Throughout her 17 years in the School of Medicine, she worked with all aspects of the student life cycle, from recruiting to graduation. She helped establish 12 PhD, four master's, and three certificate programs. She also served as the advisor to the Biomedical Graduate Student Association for two years prior to her move to the Office of the Provost in 2014.
